Samsung may release a 6-inch Galaxy S8 Plus

Korean publication Naver claims in a new report that Samsung may be releasing a 6-inch Galaxy S8 Plus next year.

There have been many conflicting reports on the screen sizes for the upcoming Galaxy S8 phones. The Korean Herald claimed in September that Samsung was sourcing curved display sizes of 5.1 and 5.5-inches. In November, Korean news outlet The Bell said that the Galaxy S8 would come in 5.7-inch and 6.2-inch curved screen variants. The latest report will add further confusion; Naver claims that the Galaxy S8 would launch in 5-inch and 6-inch models.

Moreover, display suppliers reportedly received instructions from Samsung to produce parts for the devices, one of which will be called the Galaxy S8 Plus. Going bigger on the display size has been speculated to attract former Galaxy Note7 customers.

Other rumored specs include a pressure-sensitive display which has an embedded fingerprint sensor and no bezels, a major focus on virtual reality, no 3.5mm headphone jack, 6GB RAM, storage options up to 256GB, a front-facing autofocus camera, a rear dual-camera module and a new AI assistant. Samsung could announce the Galaxy S8 at a dedicated event in New York in April
