Purported key specs of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra have been revealed by tipster Roland Quandt.
The tipster shared that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite platform. This seems to be confirmed by recent Geekbench 6 results, which show information and results similar to the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will reportedly have a Dynamic AMOLED 2x LTPO display with 120Hz refresh rate, peak brightness of 2,600 nits, and HDR10+ support. These display specs are similar to the Galaxy S24 Ultra, but the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to sport Corning's next-generation Gorilla Armour Glass for protection.
Corroborating rumours of it being the thinnest Galaxy S Ultra model, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is stated to have a physical footprint of 162.8 x 77.6 x 8.2mm and weighs 219g. This makes the new model slightly taller, narrower, thinner, and lighter than the Galaxy S24 Ultra (162.3 x 79 x 8.6mm, 232g).
Samsung is believed to offer the Galaxy S25 Ultra in three configurations: 12GB/256GB, 16GB/512GB and 16GB/1TB. While the storage capacity options are the same as the Galaxy S24 Ultra, the RAM options have increased from 12GB to 16GB for the second highest and top-tier model.
Wireless charging on the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to receive a boost from 15W to 25W. Since Qi2 currently delivers up to 15W and is expected to be supported on the Galaxy S25 series, the support for a higher wireless charging speed could be due to a proprietary wireless charging technology.
Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S25 series at its Galaxy Unpacked event in San Jose on 23 January 2025, 2am (SGT).
