Besides the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim, Samsung is also said to have plans for a thinner Galaxy S25 Ultra.
Tipster @UniverseIce posted on X the dimensions of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. It is stated to measure 162.8 x 77.6 x 8.2mm.
If @UniverseIce's stats are accurate,we are looking at the thinnest Galaxy S Ultra phone ever released. The Galaxy S25 Ultra could also be narrower than the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Below is an overview of the dimensions of the Galaxy S Ultra phones to put things into perspective:
- Galaxy S20 Ultra: 166.9 x 76 x 8.8mm
- Galaxy S21 Ultra: 165.1 x 75.6 x 8.9mm
- Galaxy S22 Ultra: 163.3 x 77.9 x 8.9mm
- Galaxy S23 Ultra: 163.4 x 78.1 x 8.9mm
- Galaxy S24 Ultra: 162.3 x 79 x 8.6mm
It cannot lay claim as the thinnest Galaxy Ultra phone as the title goes to the 8.1mm Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra.
The thinner design could be accompanied by a critical change - a switch from flat edges to rounded edges. Purported renders comparing the Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S24 Ultra show the former having more rounded corners, which is a significant departure from the boxy design.
Samsung confirms that the Galaxy S25 series "will have top-of-the-line upgrades" especially for the camera and display specs. The Galaxy S25 models will also be powered by the best chipsets and memory for better AI performance and overall premium experience.
Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S25 lineup in January 2025. There could also be a name change for two Galaxy S25 models.
