The Apple iPhone 15 lineup is tipped to receive the biggest update in three years and that might come at a cost: a price hike.
Mark Gurman of Bloomberg wrote in his latest Power On newsletter that he is expecting "at least minor price increases across all four models outside of the US."
He added that a price hike should not be ruled out in the US too, especially for the Pro models which are going to sport a titanium chassis (a first for any iPhone) and a more expensive camera system.
Recent reports have focused on a price hike for the iPhone 15 Pro models and this is the first time we're hearing about a price hike across the board for the entire iPhone 15 lineup.
Gurman also reiterated several rumoured features coming to the iPhone 15 lineup which include:
- Dynamic Island coming to the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus
- slimmer bezels for the iPhone 15 Pro models thanks to a new display technology (low-injection pressure over-moulding, or LIPO)
- 3nm A17 chipsets for the iPhone 15 Pro models
- a new Action button to replace the mute/ring switch which is customisable
- significant camera upgrades for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus
- switch from Lightning port to USB-C
Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 15 lineup sometime in early September. While there are unverified reports of a possible delay in the launch of the iPhone 15 and limited stock availability of the Pro models due to purported display manufacturing issues, Bloomberg believes the production issue will be resolved in a couple of weeks and there "will not be a noticeable impact on overall production."
