Samsung tipped to unveil triple-fold phone and XR headset later this month
Will Samsung hold another Galaxy Unpacked at the end of September?

September looks set to be a packed month for phone launches, with Samsung tipped to unveil its triple-fold phone and XR headset.
According to tipster Ice Universe, Samsung plans to launch its highly anticipated triple-fold phone (also known as Galaxy Z TriFold) and XR headset (codenamed Project Moohan) on September 29 in South Korea. Samsung had previously confirmed during its Q2 earnings call on July 31 that both devices would debut later this year.
Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold
It is rumoured to have a price tag of 4,000,000 KRW (~S$3,692). Consistent with earlier reports, availability could be limited to 200,000 units and exclusive to China and South Korea. Leaked specs suggest a display of around 10-inches when unfolded and a rather chunky 15mm profile.
Samsung XR Headset
Following Apple’s Vision Pro announcement at WWDC 2023, Samsung reportedly delayed mass production of its XR headset to refine its design and specifications.
The device is said to be co-developed with Google, running on the latter’s Android XR - an OS tailored for AR, VR and mixed reality - and powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 platform.
At launch, Samsung may brand it as the Galaxy XR, with pricing expected between 2,500,000 KRW and 4,000,000 KRW (~S$2,300 to S$3,700).
Unlike the Galaxy Z TriFold, the Galaxy XR might roll out to global markets after its debut in South Korea on October 13.
Another Galaxy Unpacked event?
Samsung already has an online Galaxy Event scheduled tomorrow (September 4), where it is expected to unveil the Galaxy Tab S11 and Galaxy S25 FE. This has fuelled speculation that Samsung may hold another Galaxy Unpacked event later in the month for the Galaxy Z TriFold and Galaxy XR, though there’s also a chance both devices could make a surprise appearance tomorrow.
