Samsung's 2025 Galaxy Z foldable phone lineup may have been revealed by TheElec.
According to the Korean news site, Samsung plans to launch four new foldable phones this year. This is a break from the norm of launching two Galaxy Z models. The four new Galaxy Z models are said to be the Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7, Galaxy Z Flip FE, and a triple-folding phone.
Starting with the triple-folding phone, TheElec claims it is likely to have limited availability as Samsung reportedly aims to manufacture roughly 200,000 units. Production of the triple-folding phone is tipped to start in Q2 with an expected launch in Q3. This is in line with Sisa Journal's estimate of a launch in the second half of the year.
Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants, shared in December 2024 that the triple-folding phone could launch in early 2026.
The triple-folding phone is rumoured to have a screen size of 9.9 to 10 inches when unfolded. The display can fold inwards from two sides and could be quite chunky at around 15mm thick. However, because of its inward folding mechanism, Samsung's triple-folding phone could be more durable than the Huawei Mate XT.
As for the regular Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 phones, Samsung is focused on making them thinner to keep up with the competition. The Galaxy Z Fold7 is said to be thinner than the 10.6mm Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition and would lose support for the S Pen.
The fourth model is the Galaxy Z Flip FE. It will reportedly come with an older processor, less RAM, less storage space, and less powerful camera hardware to have a lower and more accessible price tag.
With the foldable phone race heating up in the past year, Samsung is likely to be feeling the pressure to pull up its socks.
