After its “Glowtime” event last month, at which it unveiled the iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16, Apple Watch Series 10, and Apple Watch Ultra 2 in black titanium, Apple is widely expected to hold another event sometime later this month.
Word on the street is that this event will focus heavily on Macs. This is to be expected since Apple debuted its new M4 chip earlier this year in the new iPad Pro.
Apple is expected to put the new M4 chip in updated versions of the 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro. Apart from new chips, rumour has it that these new Macs will come with 16GB of memory as standard and that’ll they get an extra USB-C Thunderbolt port.
Aside from new MacBook Pros, we are also expecting to see a new Mac mini. This Mac mini is said to have an all-new design which will make it Apple’s smallest desktop computer yet. The design team has reportedly called it “an iPad Pro in a small box”.
There’s also talk of a new iMac. Though this new version is expected to be a spec bump refresh, there’s a chance we’ll see updated versions of the Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, and Magic Trackpad, given that Apple needs to update them to USB-C to meet regulations in the EU.
Finally, Apple could also take the opportunity to announce a new iPad mini. Stocks of the current sixth-generation iPad mini are said to be running low in stores. Moreover, the current iPad mini is powered by the A15 Bionic chip, which is too old to support Apple Intelligence.
Apple hasn’t announced if it will hold an October event, and even if it doesn’t, expect these products to be announced via press release towards the end of this month.
