Samsung may provide a preview of its XR glasses at the rumoured Galaxy S25 launch event.

South Korea's Yonhap news agency claims Samsung could tease the XR glasses by showing a photo or video of a prototype at the Galaxy S25 launch event, which is rumoured to be held in the second half of January 2025.

The "one more thing" moment could mirror the approach the company used earlier this year when it teased the Galaxy Ring at the end of the Galaxy S24 announcement.

In line with the Maeil Business Newspaper, Yonhap added that the Samsung XR glasses could launch in Q3 2025. Rumoured specs include a lightweight design of around 50g, Qualcomm;s Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 processor, mobile payment functions, gesture recognition, and facial recognition.

There is also a likelihood that Samsung could unveil the XR platform later this month. The XR platform is believed to be developed in collaboration with Google and Qualcomm.

Samsung revealed in its Q3 financial results report that it plans to "improve connectivity among products, including upcoming XR devices, to further elevate user experiences in the Galaxy ecosystem".
