Bloomberg’s report reveals interesting specs about Apple’s upcoming foldable iPhone.

The device is expected to feature a 5-6-inch cover display and an 8-inch foldable main display. These screen sizes are consistent with earlier claims from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and tipster Digital Chat Station. The form factor will resemble the book-style Android foldables already on the market.

The foldable iPhone is believed to have four cameras: one on the cover display, one on the foldable main display, and two on the rear of the device. There is no mention of Face ID in the report, since Apple reportedly wanted to maintain a sleek design, and the bulky TrueDepth camera components would have made that impossible. Instead, Apple is expected to integrate Touch ID into the side button of the device.

Like the iPhone 18 Pro, Apple’s first foldable iPhone is likely to sport the next-generation C2 modem. The C2 modem could bring mmWave 5G support and improved power efficiency. It will also omit a physical SIM card slot, opting for eSIM only. Colour options, however, may be limited to just black and white.

DigiTimes recently reported that the foldable iPhone reached the Prototype 1 (P1) stage – a key development milestone for product testing. Apple is said to be focusing on two key differentiating features to set the foldable iPhone apart from the competition: a “nearly invisible crease” and a “much higher-quality hinge”.

The foldable iPhone is slated to debut as part of a “major shake-up” for the iPhone’s 20th anniversary. This also includes a staggered iPhone release schedule beginning from next year.
