Apple's rumoured foldable iPhone could look more like the Google Pixel Fold than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold lineup.
Digital Chat Station describes it as a "large foldable" with a 5.49-inch cover display and a 7.74-inch foldable display.
To put these numbers into perspective, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 sports a 6.3-inch cover screen and a 7.6-inch foldable screen. The Google Pixel Fold has a 5.8-inch display on the front and a 7.6-inch main display. That said, Apple's foldable iPhone could have a wider aspect ratio for the displays which is ideal for its form factor.
Apple's foldable iPhone is tipped to have a 5.49-inch cover display and a 7.74-inch main foldable display.
The Wall Street Journal reported in December 2024 that the foldable iPhone has an inward-facing display that is larger than the 6.9-inch iPhone 16 Pro Max. Ross Young, the CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) also shared that the foldable iPhone may not adopt a clamshell form factor.
On the contrary, The Information claimed in February 2024 that Apple is working on at least two active prototypes that have a clamshell folding mechanism similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip. That said, it's worth remembering that The Information's report came considerably earlier, which means Apple's plans could have changed.
Since rumours suggest that it would take another year at least for Apple to launch a foldable device, there is still plenty of time for changes.
