OPPO is back, fiercer than ever, with the new OPPO Find X8 and OPPO Find X8 Pro flagship smartphones, leading the charge against an incoming batch of 2025 premium mobiles.
Not very long after its China announcement, OPPO finally returned its premium-grade Find X series to the global stage. This comes after two years of the absence of the Find X series, which previously limited the flagship phones to their home market.
To quickly recap, the OPPO Find X8 and Find X8 Pro combine OPPO’s and Google-integrated AI smarts, Hasselblad-tuned cameras, and flagship components inside and out. They’re designed for users who want the best in photography, network connectivity, and mobile performance, all rolled into a handset.
Below is the updated information based on the English version of its announcement, as heard during its global launch keynote in Bali, Indonesia.

The OPPO Find X8 and Find X8 Pro have dust-and-water resistances rated at IP68 and IP69, respectively. OPPO said it can withstand 1.5m water submersion for up to 30 minutes, on top of receiving Swiss SGS and Military Grade certifications. The company also internally tested the phone to MGJB 150.18A MIL-STD impact standards. This is OPPO’s way of assuring its users these phones look pretty and are durable enough to survive regular use.
Both have 120Hz displays capable of 1,600-nits peak brightness for outdoor viewing, and and HDR brightness that goes up to 4,500 nits. They also have the thinnest bezels OPPO has ever made, with 1.9mm bezels on the Find X8 Pro (and an even thinner 1.45mm on Find X8). The panels also come with a full suite of eye comfort certifications like high-frequency PWM dimming, DC dimming, and TÜV Rheinland Eye Comfort 4.0.

Both phones also come with the Hasselblad Master Camera System, which features 50MP cameras on all fronts. The key difference is the Find X8 Pro’s four-camera configuration with an additional 6x optical zoom (135mm), while both are fully capable of ultrawide (15mm, 0.6x zoom), normal (24mm for Pro, 23mm for Find X8, 1x), and telephoto (73mm, 3x).

The new feature included in both devices is OPPO’s triple prism periscope camera for its telephoto needs, backed by a 50MP, 1/1.95-inch Sony LYT600 sensor. The triple prism design allows OPPO to keep a slim profile while offering high-quality zoom ranges, and OPPO claimed that Find X8 Pro is the first globally available smartphone to have two periscope cameras (yes, both telephoto cameras on it use the periscope layout).
Since it has partnered with Hasselblad, the Hasselblad Portrait Mode returns, and you can use its 135mm cameras for it. Additionally, OPPO has installed AI Telescope Zoom to help overcome hardware limitations and offer serviceable 60x digital zoom designed for sporting events and concerts.

Lightning Snap is a new camera feature born out of user feedback, which allows both Find X8 devices to capture burst shots of up to seven frames per second in a single long press of its shutter.
As mentioned previously, the phones are both powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9400. We’ve separately highlighted the OPPO optimisations made possible via the chipset here.
To address connectivity demands in various global markets with varying network coverage, OPPO’s new AI LinkBoost ensures that both OPPO phones pack 20 antennas to offer up to 79% faster video uploads, even in congested network environments.

Besides the extra camera on the Pro, both phones also differ in battery capacity and display size. OPPO Find X8 offers a 5,630mAh battery and a 6.59-inch display, while OPPO Find X8 Pro has a whopping 5,910mAh battery and a 6.78-inch display. Despite these differences, they feature the same charging profiles: 80W wired SuperVOOC and 50W wireless AirVOOC, on top of wireless magnetic charging through the rear.

Both also come with a tactile Alert Slider, allowing users to set their phones to silent or vibrate modes, just like old iPhones. They also come out of the box with ColorOS 15 (Android 15 reskin). A key perk of OPPO’s software is its compatibility with iPhone-wielding friends, such as Live Photos support and Touch to Share with iOS/iPadOS devices through NFC.
Note: The Touch to Share function will be available as an OTA update for the Find X8 series phones. iPhone users can access it by installing the O+ Connect app from the Apple App Store.

Besides having Google Gemini integration, OPPO-developed AI tools include AI Clarity Enhance (upsamples low-res photos), AI Unblur (detail restoration), AI Reflection Remover, AI Studio (AI-generated images), and productivity tools like AI Summary, AI Speak, and AI Writer. Inside the new OPPO-made Documents app is also AI Assistant for Notes, which helps to restructure and streamline content on behalf of its user.
Finally, OPPO shared separately during a closed door interview that the Find X8 series comes with four years of firmware updates and six years of security updates.
