The inaugural Smart Home Tech Show is now on at Suntec Convention Centre levels 3 and 4, from today until 17 November, and the HardwareZone team headed down to take a look at some of the best deals that you can look forward to. For me, I was curious to see if – despite its main focus on “smart home” focus – this tech show has any interesting mobile and audio deals.
You can also head on over to our Tech Show Portal to check out brochures, the floor plan and other deals (computing, mobile, audio, etc) covered by the HWZ team.
ASUS Zenbook S 14 laptop
As you come up to the exhibition floor it’s hard to miss this ASUS Zenbook S 14 at the Best Denki booth on level 3 (you really can’t miss them). I’m pointing out this deal right at the top because I personally think the show’s offer of $2,499 (usual $2,799) makes this one of the best premium laptop deals. Powered by Intel’s latest Core Ultra 7 258V (Lunar Lake), the Zenbook S 14 is not only one of the best performing laptops of this generation but it’s battery-life prowess is remarkable too – lasting more than 18 hours in our review (read our review here).

Microsoft Surface 7th Edition laptop
The Surface 7th Edition is Microsoft’s first laptop that is based on a Qualcomm Snapdragon X processor and could be a great Windows alternative to an Apple MacBook Air with its sleek look and solid build. Its luxuriously long battery life could also rival any MacBook. If you’re planning to take the Windows-on-Arm plunge, this Microsoft Surface laptop is as good as any – with price starting from $1,599.

JBL MA310 and JBL Stage 2 Speaker bundle
Looking to elevate your home theatre experience but fearful of the cost and complexity of the setup? JBL has a relatively affordable speaker bundle offer that also includes an amplifier at this year’s Smart Home Tech Show. The speaker bundle comes the Stage 2 245C, Stage 2 240B and Stage 2 200P, and the amplifier is the JBL MA310. With a combined retail price of $3,795, JBL is selling it for way below $3,000.

JBL Spinner BT turnatable
Turntables and vinyls have been the rage for a while now. At the same JBL booth, the Spinner BT turntable is going for $299 (usual $799) and could be a consideration for those starting out this hobby and do not want to invest in an expensive system. It comes with a built-in pre-amp and supports Bluetooth, making it easy to setup and get your favourite record playing right out of the box.

Creative Sound Blaster Katana V2 soundbar
If you’re looking for a soundbar for your PC, the Creative Sound Blaster Katana V2 is available for $399 (usual $479) and comes with a separate subwoofer. It might be close to three years since its launch, but the Katana V2 still packs a punch with up to 252W maximum peak output – thanks to the 6.5-inch driver on its subwoofer. The soundbar supports Dolby as well as Creative’s proprietary SXFI audio technology, and of course, RGB illumination too. But if you’re looking for something with a bit more flair and “oomph”, the Bose QuietComfort Ultra wireless earbuds are going for $289 (usual $379). Bose’s ANC technology remains one of the best in the business, and our audio expert and editor, Kenny, thought it was “as good as Sony’s WF-1000XM5 in all but the most extreme situations” in his wireless earbuds shootout (read all about it here).
