The Smart Home Tech Show is happening now at the Suntec Convention Centre, Levels 3 and 4. Despite its name, you can also find laptops, routers, mesh networking systems, storage devices, and more at the show. If you are looking for any of the abovementioned devices, this article is for you. As usual, there’s lots to see and loads of deals if you look hard enough. To save you the trouble and hassle, I was there this morning to trawl the booths. Scroll down to see the deals I found.

The Smart Home Tech Show takes place this weekend from 14 November to 17 November at Suntec Convention Centre, Levels 3 and 4. Level 3 opens at 11am, while Level 4 opens at 12pm. Admission is free.

Readers looking for a 16-inch notebook should check out the Acer Swift Go 16. Its 16-inch 3.2K OLED display has a refresh rate of 120Hz. It’s powered by the Intel Core Ultra 7 processor with Intel Arc integrated graphics, and it has a generous 32GB of memory and a 1TB SSD. It’s really light too, weighing just 1.2kg. It’s going for S$1,399 (U.P. S$1,699).

A recent release, the ASUS RT-BE86U is a dual-band Wi-Fi 7 router capable of delivering speeds of up to 5764Mbps on its 5GHz band and 1032Mbps on its 2.4GHz band. It has a single 10G WAN/LAN port, a single 2.5G WAN/LAN port, and three 2.5G LAN ports. This should suffice for users who have invested in a 2Gbps plan. ASUS claims it can deliver up to 2,750 sq. ft. of coverage. It’s going for S$599, making it one of the more affordable Wi-Fi 7 routers from ASUS.

One of the more affordable convertible notebooks I found was the ASUS Vivobook S14 Flip. It comes with an AMD Ryzen 5 7430U processor and has 16GB of memory and a 512GB SSD. The 14-inch touch display has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. It’s going for S$949 (U.P. S$1,209) and comes with a free ASUS backpack and a free ASUS stylus pen.

If you aren’t too fussy about specs, the HP Laptop 15 is the most affordable 15-inch laptop I saw at the show. It comes with an Intel Core i5-1235U processor with Intel integrated graphics and has 8GB of memory and a 256GB SSD. The 15.6-inch display supports full-HD resolution. It’s going for just S$699 (U.P. S$899).

Readers who want the latest and greatest can consider the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x (14Q8X9). This particular unit is noteworthy because it’s powered by the Snapdragon X Elite (X1E-78-100) processor and has 32GB of memory and a 1TB SSD. The 14.5-inch display is OLED and has a resolution of 2944 x 1840 pixels. It supports Wi-Fi 7 and weighs just 1.28kg. It’s going for S$1,959 (U.P. S$2,199) and is business-ready with Windows 11 Pro.

Even after all these years, the LG gram 14 remains one of the lightest 14-inch laptops you can find. This version weighs 1.12kg and the 14-inch display has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. It’s powered by the Intel Core Ultra 5 125H processor with 16GB of memory and a 512GB SSD. It’s going for S$1606 (U.P. S$1899).

The Snapdragon X Elite based Surface Pro laptops are available at the show. The 13-inch PixelSense display has a resolution of 2880 x 1920 pixels. It’s powered by a Snapdragon X Elite processor and the most affordable version has 16GB of memory and a 256GB SSD. This version is going for S$2,048.

Netgear RS300 tri-band Wi-Fi 7 router

Wi-Fi 7 routers are getting more affordable and one of the more affordable ones at the show was the Netgear RS300. This is a tri-band router that supports speeds of up to 700Mbps on its 2.4GHz network, 2,900Mbps on its 5GHz network, and 5,800Mbps on its 6GHz network. It has a single 2.5Gbps WAN port, two 2.5Gbps LAN ports, and two Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports. It’s S$399 (U.P. S$549).

The Seagate One Touch SSD is a portable SSD that's compact enough to slip into most pockets. It connects via USB-C and supports transfer speeds of up to 1,030MB/s. The 1TB version is S$129, and the 2TB version is S$219.

You can find it at the Best Denki booth 330 on Level 3.

Toshiba Canvio Ready portable HDD

If you need a portable HDD for backups or simply need extra storage space for your files, the Toshiba Canvio Ready is the most affordable 1TB portable HDD that I saw at the show. It’s going for just S$59 (U.P. S$95).

This is the most affordable Wi-Fi 7 router I saw at the show. The TP-Link BE3600 is a dual-band router that supports speeds of up to 3,600Mbps – 688Mbps on its 2.4GHz band and 2,882Mbps on its 5GHz band. It has a single 2.5Gbps WAN port, one 2.5Gbps LAN port, and three Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports. It’s going for S$179 (U.P. S$199).

WD Blue SN5000 NVMe SSD

The WD Blue SN5000 is an internal M.2 2280 SSD that supports the PCIe 4.0 x4 interface and delivers sequential read and write speeds of around 5,000MB/s. The 1TB version is S$109, while the 2TB version is S$179.
