The ASUS TUF Sabertooth Z170 S boasts an arctic camouflage design on its PCB and heatsinks, merging the hallmark reliability of the Sabertooth series with a striking all-white design.

The ASUS Sabertooth Z170 S lacks the Thermal Armor found on some Sabertooth boards, the better to show off the arctic camouflage pattern that has been stenciled directly onto the PCB.

LED indicators on the PCH heatsink help you keep track of the boot status. They glow white to match the heatsink and board's PCB.

There are two USB 3.1 (Gen 2) ports at the rear, comprising one Type-A and one Type-C port. There is also a BIOS flashback button to update the BIOS from a USB drive. The arctic-white I/O cover helps protect against electrostatic discharges.

Here's a closer look at the TUF alloy chokes and capacitors. ASUS is claiming higher temperature tolerances and longer lifespans for the board's components and it's confident about it too. The Sabertooth Z170 S is backed by a five-year warranty.

Storage options aren't the focus of the Sabertooth board. There are just six SATA 6Gbps ports available, including two SATA Express ports.

In typical ASUS fashion, the single M.2 socket is located at the bottom right corner of the board, away from the heat of the graphics cards.

The PCB is actually an off-white color, complete with digital camouflage patterns.

The digital camouflage pattern may not appeal to everyone, but the board will definitely go well with an all-white casing. The NZXT Noctis 450 casing is one such option, so check it out in our review.
