Apple was reportedly testing more than 10 different prototypes of the iPhone 8 in November 2016. Five months later, it seems that Apple has narrowed down to two prototypes.

Citing information from Foxconn sources, iDROPNEWS claims that Apple is currently testing two prototypes of the iPhone 8 with one having the Touch ID button embedded in the display and the other having the Touch ID on the back. It is "high-likely" that Apple will eventually choose the former.

iDROPNEWS also reiterated earlier reports of a lesser curved display, a 5.8-inch OLED displaya bezel-free design and wireless charging. The iPhone 8 is said to sport 4mm bezels around the 5.8-inch OLED display, "2.5D-contoured glass" on the front and rear with a metal frame, and the same physical dimensions as the iPhone 7

Other rumored specs include a "large power button featuring two points of contact" and an "invisible" front-facing camera underneath the display. Based on these information, someone has designed concept images of the iPhone 8. These renders also suggest that the iPhone 8 will come with a "function area" at the bottom of the display, and a vertical dual-lens layout which is very different from the current horizontal configuration on the iPhone 7 Plus.
