The iPhone is expected to undergo a radical design next year because 2017 is the 10th anniversary of the iPhone.

There have long been rumors that the next iPhone will sport a bezel-free design and new reports have emerged confirming the same.

According to Barclays Research analysts Blayne Curtis, Christopher Hemmelgarn, Thomas O'Malley, and Jerry Zhang, who visit Asia to check in with Apple's supply chain, the next iPhone will have a borderless bezel-free design that will allow Apple to increase the size of the display while keeping it at the same overall size.

The new iPhones will reportedly come with larger 5-inch and 5.8-inch displays, up from the current 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch.

In addition, they said that only the larger 5.8-inch model will have an OLED display. OLED displays are generally brighter, more vivid, and more energy efficient.

And finally, this report corroborates with that of noted KGI Securities analyst Ming-chi Kuo, whose predictions on numerous Apple products have been right in the past.
