Samsung might ditch Qualcomm and use its own Exynos chips for the Galaxy Z Flip7.
According to the South Korean publication Chosun Biz, a senior Samsung official reportedly confirmed that the Exynos 2500 chip will power the Galaxy Z Flip7. The current Galaxy Z Flip6 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy.
The senior Samsung official also seemed to confirm earlier reports of poor production yields affecting the Exynos 2500 and that the situation had improved for the company to think it is "feasible to equip the premium models in the Z Flip series".
This is in line with what a tipster shared last month about the chipset powering the Galaxy Z Flip7 series. While the tipster agreed that the Galaxy Z Flip7 could be powered by the Exynos 2500, the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE will likely be equipped with the Exynos 2400e.
The Galaxy Z Flip7 FE is rumoured to launch alongside the Galaxy Z Flip7, a break from the traditional launch timeframe of FE models which is usually weeks or months after the flagship models.
As for the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung is likely to rely on Qualcomm's solutions as it might not have the time to scale up production of the Exynos 2500 to meet its rumoured launch next month.
