Samsung has finally made its first step in democratising AI features by bringing one of its most useful tools to its midrange mobile devices.

According to its official statement, select Samsung Galaxy A series users and owners of the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ can now use Circle to Search.

With this update, the Samsung brand joins other phone makers like Google and OPPO in adding AI features to midrange mobiles.

Samsung said (in an interview conducted during the launch of Galaxy Z Flip6 and Galaxy Z Fold6) that Circle to Search is one of the most used features of Galaxy AI.

As demonstrated here, Circle to Search helps users search online for things they see on their mobile devices, significantly reducing the complexity of finding information about things that appear in apps, videos, and more. Since it conducts Google searches, an Internet connection is required for the feature to work.

To be clear, Circle to Search is a Google-made feature, but it was first unveiled through Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series.

Samsung said that its availability depends on the users updating to the latest Android firmware version.

Update: Samsung Singapore confirmed that the feature goes to the abovementioned devices from 22 August 2024 onwards.
