The new OnePlus 3 is powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor and has 6GB of RAM
The OnePlus 3 finally gets launched and boasts high-end specs, including a 16MP rear camera with OIS, an 8MP front camera with larger photosites, 64GB storage, and a 4A/5V fast-charging tech over a USB Type-C port.
After weeks of teasing, OnePlus has officially unveiled the OnePlus 3.
As expected, this is a well-spec’ed smartphone with an affordable price. For a start, it has a 5.5-inch AMOLED display protected by Gorilla Glass 4, and runs on a Snapdragon 820 processor, with 6GB LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB storage. The rear camera’s resolution comes in at 16 megapixels, and it supports optical image stabilization and phase detection AF, as well as RAW image shooting. The front-facing camera touts an 8MP sensor but with larger 1.4µm pixels. Software-wise, we’re looking at a version of OxygenOS based on Android Marshmallow (Android 6.0).
A 4G LTE (Cat. 6) smartphone, the OnePlus 3 sports an aluminum body, and comes in graphite (silver) and "soft gold" color options. A fingerprint sensor is also onboard (unlocks in "just 0.2 of a second"), as do a USB 2.0 Type-C port and a dual-nano-SIM slot. Its 3,000mAh battery isn’t removable, but you can top up the charge quickly with OnePlus’ Dash Charge tech, which supplies 4A over 5V.
The OnePlus 3 is priced at US$399 in the U.S., or €399 in Europe. OnePlus is expected to bring the phone to Singapore soon through a distributor; we’ll update you again when we hear more.
