Nearly one million people in China registered their interest for the Nokia 6

There are apparently a lot of people in China who are interested in Nokia's first Android smartphone.

Nokia plays its cards well by making its first Android smartphone exclusive to the world's biggest smartphone market.

With less than two days before the first flash sales, the Nokia 6 apparently garnered nearly one million registrations of interest from consumers in China. While the registration of interest does not necessarily translate to an actual sale, it is seen as a gauge of consumer's interest in the phone.

The Nokia 6 is currently only available for purchase on JD.com with a retail price of 1,699 yuan (~S$353). As a quick recap, the phone comes with an aluminum unibody chassis, a 5.5-inch Full-HD display, a Snapdragon 430 processor, 4GB RAM and Android 7.0 Nougat.

There are rumors that there will be a global variant of the Nokia 6, but consumers should also look out for more new Android smartphones from Nokia at next month's Mobile World Congress 2017 and up to 7 new models by the end of the year.
