Engadget Japan obtained leaked schematics of the Apple iPhone 6S which point to a slightly thicker chassis. According to the leaked schematics, the iPhone 6S is 0.2mm thicker than the iPhone 6 at 7.1mm.

This corroborates with earlier reports where leaked case sketches hint that the new iPhones will be thicker. There are a number of reasons that can contribute to the extra thickness. The most widely speculated feature is the integration of Force Touch with the display of the new iPhones.

Another rumored spec is the addition of a bigger battery to power the iPhones due to the inclusion of LTE CAT 6 speeds. The third popular rumor is the upgrade in imaging hardware where the iPhones will come with 12-megapixel camera sensors.
