While Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 12 lineup later this month, analysts are already sharing their predictions for the iPhone 13 lineup and iPhone SE 3.
Display analyst Ross Young tweeted that he expects the iPhone 13 lineup to be similar to the iPhone 12 series with four models in three different screen sizes. Much of the changes will be under the hood; the iPhone 13 Pro models are believed to support mmWave and sub-6GHz, and the non-Pro models will support only sub-6GHz. Only one iPhone 12 model is rumoured to support mmWave this year.
The main highlight feature of the iPhone 13 Pro models will be the 120Hz ProMotion display, thanks to the adoption of LTPO technology. The iPhone 12 Pro models were initially said to have this feature, but tipsters claimed that Apple is unable to secure 120Hz driver ICs or that the feature is still not ready.
The iPhone 13 models (iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini) are likely to inherit the same camera sensors as the iPhone 12 Pro Max while the iPhone 13 Pro models are expected to have bigger sensor sizes.
As for the third-generation iPhone SE, Young thinks it will only arrive in spring 2022. It is said to sport a 6.1-inch LCD display, Touch ID, sub-6GHz connectivity, and the same dual-camera module as the iPhone 11.
