Apple is believed to be launching its first 5G iPhone lineup next month, but not all of them will support the fastest 5G according to Fast Company.

A wireless industry source told Fast Company that the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max is the only model to support millimeter-wave 5G (mmWave 5G) while the entire lineup will support the slower, but more common sub-6GHz.

This is due to the fact that the 6.7-inch model has the necessary space in its chassis to accommodate the special antenna design required for mmWave hardware and larger battery. As for market availability, only the iPhone 12 Pro Max versions sold in the U.S, Korea and Japan will support mmWave 5G.
