The current Pixel smartphones were announced on 4th October last year and Google is likely to stick to the same launch period.

According to reliable tipster @evleaks, Google will be unveiling the second generation Pixel smartphones on 5th October. In addition, he shared that the new Pixel smartphones will be powered by the Snapdragon 836 mobile platform.

Fudzilla reported in July that the Pixel 2 smartphones will be equipped with the Snapdragon 836 mobile platform, which delivers 10% better performance and longer battery life. @evleaks shared earlier this month the photo of the actual handset which suggests that certain flagship features are lacking on the Pixel 2 smartphones. More information on the Pixel 2 also leaked through the FCC filing more than a week ago.
