HTC reveals more Google Pixel 2 details in FCC filing

And one of the features coming to the Pixel 2 is the squeeze input found on the HTC U11.

It’s been exactly a year since the original Pixel and Pixel XL passed through the Federal Communications Commission (U.S’s regulatory body for telecommunication electronics). This week, Android Police and The Verge spotted the FCC filing for Google Pixel 2.

HTC is responsible for manufacturing the Pixel 2, hence filing was submitted by the Taiwanese phone manufacturer (with the model number NM8G011A). Android Police deduced that the Pixel 2 was tested using Android 8.0 OS. The spotted “8998” baseband number indicates that the phone will be using either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 or 836 SoC (Snapdragon 835 is the current flagship processor for Qualcomm).

The documents also verified that the Pixel 2 will have a 4.97-inch display with Full HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixels resolution), and it will likely feature HTC U11’s iconic “squeezable” side input (referred to as Active Edge, instead of Edge Sense, as shown in the screenshots here). The Verge pointed out that the Pixel 2 won’t have super-narrow bezels like its larger Pixel 2 XL variant, and that the Pixel 2 will have two front-facing speakers.

That’s plenty of things that HTC is putting into the phone; here’s what the Google Pixel 2 will not likely have. It looks like the phone will see a launch after October if we are to go by the current timelines.
