Despite halting global sales of the Galaxy Note7 and rolling out refunds or exchange programs, reports of exploding Galaxy Note7 continued to surface. The latest incident happened two days ago in St. Petersburg when a man left his Galaxy Note7 charging in his jeep.
After unloading a desk from the vehicle, the man and his family were about to return to the jeep when they realized it was on fire. Apparently, the Galaxy Note7 had exploded and engulfed the jeep in flames. According to his Facebook post, the Galaxy Note7 was just five days old and he did not know about the recall program.
A Samsung spokesperson provided a statement to FOX 13 news claiming that the company is aware of the incident and doing everything they can for the man. However, the man complained on his Facebook yesterday that he did not receive a call-back from Samsung as promised and he was considering to get a lawyer.
For Galaxy Note7 users in Singapore, Samsung has announced a local exchange program where they can exchange their current devices for a new replacement unit.
