Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says Apple's 2nm chips may only arrive in 2026.
Kuo shared on X that Apple will continue to use TSMC's N3P process technology for the iPhone 17 next year. This is similar to the recently announced A18 series chips, which are built on a second-generation 3nm process.
However, Kuo expects Apple to use TSMC's 2nm process technology in 2026 for the iPhone 18. That said, cost and yield concerns may force Apple to reserve the 2nm chips for only the iPhone 18 Pro models.
Kuo's prediction comes two months after another tipster claims that TSMC's 2nm chips will not be available until the end of 2025. Nonetheless, Apple is said to have met TSMC to secure an exclusive supply of 2nm chips.
Apple utilised a similar strategy last year to secure TSMC's 3nm chip supply to edge out rivals from having access to the chips.
