HWZ's top product reviews in 2024
Yet another year has come and gone, all in the blink of an eye, so it’s time again for our annual throwback to HardwareZone’s top content of 2024.
In this article, we’re looking at the 10 product reviews that were the most well-received pieces on our website. Thank you all for making HWZ the leading online technology portal in Asia Pacific, and for all the support we’ve received. Here’s our 2024 Year in review, as we bid goodbye to 2024 and welcome 2025.
1. BYD Atto 3 (100kW) electric car review

This EV review actually came out in 2023, and was even in last year’s Year in Review, which just goes to show that readership is continuing well into 2024 with many people still checking out our experience. This is most likely also because cars typically don’t release new models every year, so the review of the BYD Atto 3 (100kW) is still very relevant to buyers in 2024.
2. Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G midrange phone review

Midrange phones might be a dime a dozen these days, but with the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G making the #2 on our list, readers are still interested if the phone offers decent specs at a decent price. It’s a solid phone with nice features while not too heavy on the wallet.
3. Xiaomi Pad 6 tablet review

Similar to the BYD Atto 3 (100kW), our Xiaomi Pad 6 review actually came out in 2023, and it also made the Year in Review list last year. This time around, it jumped up a spot to make it into our top 3, and it shows that even if the product was released a while ago, people would still search for it if it’s a good product. This value-for-money tablet did plenty of things right, and we can see why people would be interested in discovering more about it.
4. Fujifilm X100VI camera review

The Fujifilm X100VI was one of the hottest cameras in 2024, with many photographers still unable to get their hands on one, so of course, our review on it would garner plenty of eyeballs. The X100VI is a capable compact camera that we enjoyed shooting with, and if you’re able to get one close to the retail price, it might be worth the pickup.
5. Dyson V12s Detect Slim Submarine mopping vacuum cleaner review

Want to mop your floor while vacuuming it at the same time? The Dyson V12s Detect Slim Submarine comes with a Submarine head that holds a water tank, waste water tray and a wet roller head to clean up wet spills, dirt or dried stains. Being able to save more water compared to the traditional mopping method is a nice touch, and if you’re looking for a single-solution wet and dry vacuum cleaner, this should be one of the options to check out.
6. LG Dual Inverter Dehumidifier review

We all know how humid it gets in Singapore. If your home layout isn’t optimal, it can sometimes reach 70+% humidity, which can cause mould and mildew growth. A dehumidifier is necessary in these cases, and the LG dehumidifier comes with some nice perks, like smart connectivity to the LG ThinQ app, a humidity sensor, an energy monitor, and more.
We thought this dehumidifier was one of the best around, so if you have high humidity levels at home, you might want to check out our review.
7. Sony WF-1000XM5 true wireless earbuds review

We’ve always held Sony’s WF-1000XM series in high regard, and it’s no different for the WF-1000XM5. These earbuds are among the most popular on the market, so it’s no surprise that this review made our top 10 list. With excellent noise cancellation and sound quality, it won our Tech Awards Editor’s Choice for the best true wireless earbuds in 2024.
8. Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra premium smartphone review

If you were wondering when the following smartphone review would appear, here it is. The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra impressed us tremendously this year with its vibrant, glare-reducing front display, insane battery life, powerful performance, and valuable AI-powered photo editing features. This entry is in line with our readers’ interest, as the Galaxy S23 Ultra also made the top 10 list last year.
9. Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro smartwatch review

We had mixed opinions when reviewing the Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro. Although it had flagship hardware compared to competitors on the market, it was let down by the older software and basic health and fitness stats. The price is reasonable, however, and now that it’s been out for a while, we should see more sales, resulting in a lower overall cost.
10. Honor Magic V3 foldable smartphone review

Foldable smartphones have gotten plenty of interest over the last few years, and brands are now rushing to make their offering the thinnest and lightest while not skimping on performance, battery life and photo quality. In our opinion, the brand with the best results so far has been Honor, and their Magic V3 foldable smartphone is the epitome of that at just 9.2mm thick when folded, making it the thinnest foldable smartphone on release. It also performed admirably in terms of battery life, performance and cameras, so we can understand why this piece made it into our top 10 reviews for 2024.
