It’s been ten years since Huawei began making its Huawei Watch smartwatches. The brand has now introduced its next Huawei Watch 5, updated its fitness range with the Watch Fit 4 series, and brought on the FreeBuds 6 true wireless earbuds, all in Singapore.

Before we go into each of them, here are the shopping links to the official platforms that carry these newfangled wearables:

In addition to what you’d already know and expect from Huawei’s smartwatches, Huawei Watch 5 adds a new multi-sensing X-TAP feature. This is a 10-level tactile sensor that’s also pressure-sensitive. It monitors up to six key metrics (e.g., heart rate variability, emotional well-being, and blood oxygen saturation) within 60 seconds of a reading. To use it, simply touch and hold a finger to the X-TAP sensor.

The watch also introduces Double Slide and Double Tap gestures for calls, music playback, and remote control of your smartphone’s camera. These gestures are also supported on select third-party social app voice calls, but Huawei did not specify which ones.

42mm versions use 904L stainless steel and come in Sand Gold and Beige, while the 46mm model uses aerospace-grade titanium in Purple. Both sizes also have 316L stainless steel designs.

Other perks include eSIM support, with promises of up to 4.5 days (46mm) and 3 days (42mm) of uptime in Standard Mode for its battery.

Huawei Watch 5 officially retails at S$548. The brand is offering S$30 early bird vouchers on Shopee and Lazada until 27 May 2025.

The new Watch Fit 4 series by Huawei comes in two editions, Watch Fit 4 and Watch Fit 4 Pro. The physical differences are minor (with the Watch Fit 4 Pro just 3g heavier and 0.2mm slimmer) but its the Pro that offers a whole bunch of extra perks.

Unique to the Pro is offline contour maps, checkpoint navigation, professional trail running mode, and 15,000+ golf course maps with real-time, GPS-based distance measurement. It also gets up to 40m depth support for diving activities, and a dedicated freediving mode with real-time metrics.

Also, the Pro gets Huawei’s TruSense System, which you can read all about here.

The regular Watch Fit 4 still supports offline navigation (maps, route import) and route-tracking in some sea-level watersports (sailing, swimming, and more). It also has some light productivity features (voice notepad, quick message replies, remote shutter, weather).

These wearables are compatible with Android and iOS devices.

The Huawei Watch Fit 4 retails at S$168 and is now available in four colours (White, Purple, Black, and Grey).

Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro starts retailing on 27 May 2025 at S$298 (Blue, Green, and Black).

Both wearables have a S$15 early bird discount if you redeem the corresponding vouchers on Shopee and Lazada by 27 May 2025.

Huawei FreeBuds 6

The Huawei FreeBuds 6 is the latest update to its open-ear true wireless buds design, which prioritises lossless transmission and sound clarity alongside its aesthetic.

It uses 11mm dual-magnetic drivers assisted by an upgraded acoustic architecture (Bass Turbo 2.0) to maximise its audio competence. It’s also Huawei’s first open-ear design featuring dual drivers per side, which Huawei claimed was an engineering feat by the Chinese electronics brand.

While it boasts 2.3Mbps lossless data transmission, that’s only when you pair it with the Huawei Mate X6 (our hands-on here). Pairing it with the Huawei Pura 70 series phones nets 1.5Mbps transmission, while other smartphone models can do 990Kbps. At any rate, the earbuds have 24-bit/48kHz bitrate and L2HC 4.0 codec support, both going beyond CD quality audio.

A new voice processing unit — a bone conduction microphone and its independent cavity — has also been added for more accurate voice pickup in calls. It also suppresses background noises of up to 95dB.

Huawei said the buds can do 5.5 hours on a single sprint with a total of 32 hours of playback if you include the charging case’s battery.

Huawei FreeBuds 6 retails at S$198 in Purple, Black, and White.

Pre-orders have already begun, and it’s also getting the S$15 early bird promotion until 27 May 2025 if you go through its official Shopee and Lazada platforms.
