Apple's upcoming AI features could be marketed as "Apple Intelligence".
As Apple gears up to share details of its ongoing AI work at WWDC 2024, the company is said to have decided on the branding for its AI features.
Mark Gurman of Bloomberg reports that Apple's iOS 18 AI features are likely going to be marketed under "Apple Intelligence".
The Apple Intelligence platform is said to be powered by a mix of on-device and cloud server capabilities. Apple is reportedly using its own chips in data servers to power some of iOS 18's AI features while at the same time relying on OpenAI to power some others.
Some iOS 18 AI features include photo retouching, improved Safari web search, voice memo transcription, and suggested replies to emails and messages. An enhanced Siri is rumoured to be the core of Apple's AI strategy.
It remains to be seen how Apple's AI features will fare against the competition including Samsung's Galaxy AI features on the Galaxy S24 series and Oppo/OnePlus' AI Phones.
