SEGA has announced that the Like a Dragon series will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch, coinciding with the release of the Amazon original series “Like a Dragon: Yakuza”.

As noted in our Nintendo Direct roundup, fans can look forward to playing Yakuza Kiwami on their Switch when it becomes available on the Nintendo eShop on 25 October.

For the unknown, Yakuza Kiwami is a reimagining of the first game in the Like a Dragon series. Set in 1995 Kamurocho, the game follows the protagonist, Kazuma Kiryu, an up-and-coming yakuza who takes the fall for a crime boss’s murder to protect his sworn brother and childhood friend. After spending a decade in prison, Kiryu comes back to a world vastly different from when he left it and meets a young girl named Haruka.

As players go around the world completing the main story and fighting using four distinct battle styles: the balanced Brawler Style, the speedy Rush Style, the powerful Beast Style, and the Dragon of Dojima Style, they can also partake in minigames available such as the card game MesuKing: Battle bug Beauties, mahjong, and more. Readers can check out the official website for more information about the game.

Alongside the Yakuza Kiwami is the release of Amazon Original “Like a Dragon: Yakuza” which will debut exclusively on Prime Video. The series, set in the fictional Kamurocho, tells an original story of Kazuma Kiryu's rise as the Dragon of Dojima.

Featuring six episodes (released in two batches of three) and directed by Masaharu Take and Kengo Takimoto, Like a Dragon: Yakuza will be available on Amazon Prime Video on 25 October.
