Map Camera is one of Japan’s largest retailers of cameras and a must-go destination for tourists looking for deals on cameras and photography accessories.
The company also has a tradition of releasing annual top 10 best-selling lists for both new and used cameras and here are the results of 2024.
The last year saw the release of a couple of interesting and heavy-hitting cameras and was an exciting year overall for cameras.

No surprises, heading the list of best-selling new cameras is Fujifilm’s extremely popular X100VI. The camera remains out of stock in most places and commands strong prices in the second-hand market. More importantly, it’s a truly great point-and-shoot camera.
In second place is another Fujifilm camera, the X-T50. Launched in May, the X-T50 comes with the company’s 5th-generation 40MP sensor and is the mid-range offering in the X-T series of cameras.
In third place is the slightly older Sony A7C II. Launched around August 2023, the A7C II continues to be a favourite thanks to its compact body and highly competent full-frame sensor.
