Samsung saw the highest pre-order numbers of any Galaxy S phone for the Galaxy S24 in Korea.
The market reception to the Samsung Galaxy S24 series is off to a good start in its home market.
The Korea Herald reports that Samsung achieved a record number of pre-orders for the Galaxy S24 series. Apparently, Samsung managed to sell 1.21 million units within a week which translated to an average of about 173,000 units per day or 7209 units per hour.
The 1.21-million figure not only broke the previous record held by the Galaxy S23 series.
Unsurprisingly, the Galaxy S24 Ultra was the most popular model and accounted for 60% of the total pre-orders followed by the Galaxy S24+ (21%) and Galaxy S24 (19%).
In terms of colour choices, Titanium Black ranked at the top for the Ultra model while Marble Gray was the most popular colour for the Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24.
We have not heard about the local sales since pre-orders started on 18 January. Consumers who have pre-ordered can expect to receive or collect their Galaxy S24 phones from 24 January, while official retail sales will begin on 31 January.
