Redmagic unveils variant of Redmagic 10 Pro gaming phone with real gold

And real silver too, all in a first-come, first-served package that costs a pretty penny. #redmagic #redmagic10pro

We've covered the original Redmagic 10 Pro series when it launched late last year, and we've also covered the Lightspeed edition of the Redmagic 10 Pro that released earlier in January, which featured a bright white rear panel.

Now, Redmagic appears to be going for a more regal look with the new Redmagic 10 Pro Golden Saga Edition. The redesigned gaming phone aims for luxury, with a rear panel that features carbon fibre, highlighted by real gold and silver accents, as well as "sapphire-enhanced durability" presumably on the back and/or front panels.

The gold and black aesthetics, while not quite as ostentatious, does evoke some of the old Vertu phones that aimed for a similarly luxurious look, before it went through some business troubles in 2017.

Redmagic claims that, aside from looks, the precious metals do serve a practical purpose; the gold and silver supposedly improve the phone's cooling efficiency, and the sapphire, aside from improving durability, and enhances heat dissipation.

Of course, it comes with the gaming phone goodies that the original Redmagic 10 Pro series already has, including the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, the huge 7,050mAh battery, 6.85-inch 144Hz AMOLED display, shoulder triggers and 11-layer thermal cooling system. The specs are also top of the line, even in comparison to the rest of the Redmagic 10 Pro series; with the Golden Saga Edition, you get 24GB of memory and 1TB of storage.

You're not getting just the phone with your purchase, too. The Redmagic 10 Pro Golden Saga Edition comes packaged with a bunch of other complimentary items, called the Saga Gift Box. Items in the Saga Gift Box include:

  • A customised version of the Cooler 5 Pro that fits the Golden Saga aesthetic,
  • A Saga-themed phone case,
  • A similarly Saga-themed 80W charcter and cable,
  • A gold-plated SIM ejector tool
  • And a VIP card with a number that indicates the gift box's position in the series.

Pricing and Availability

That last point is quite important to Redmagic, as it has designed the Redmagic 10 Pro Golden Saga Edition with exclusivity and rarity in mind. That's why the company is selling it on a first-come, first-served basis, meaning that once it's gone, it's gone for good. Redmagic didn't say how many were being manufactured.

Pre-orders are available on Redmagic's online store for S$2,199 now, and is set to ship on March 31 2025.
