You may have to wait another year for an iPhone with support for 5G mmWave bands.

According to Apple's cellular compatibility page, only iPhone 13 models sold in the U.S support 5G mmWave bands. This is no different from the iPhone 12 models. Previous reports by analysts Ming-Chi Kuo and Ross Young claimed that Apple is bringing iPhone 13 models with 5G mmWave support to more countries.

In case you are wondering, there are two kinds of 5G bands: mmWave and sub-6GHz. mmWave consists of the higher frequency radio bands from 24GHz to 40GHz, while sub-6GHz include mid (3.4 to 6GHz) and low-frequency bands (under 1GHz). 5G mmWave bands deliver super-fast speeds, but they are extremely short range. On the other hand, sub-6GHz bands offer moderately faster speeds than 4G and at longer ranges.
