OnePlus 12 leaked design hints at periscope camera lens
A collaboration between a tech tips site and a popular tipster brought forth new OnePlus 12 renders, featuring major changes to the device.
Tech website Smartprix and tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer (@OnLeaks on Twitter) shared new renders of OnePlus 12, which featured a design similar to the preceding OnePlus 11. There was one visible difference: instead of four housings, the phone now has a rectangular lens with the LED flash moving out of the camera module.
The new rectangular camera is similar to the periscope telephoto ones found on Oppo Reno10 series and Oppo Find X6 Pro, which led to Smartprix believing that OnePlus 12 will also get a 64MP Omnivision OV64B periscope camera. That and the fact that both OnePlus and Oppo are technically under the same company helped with the assumption too.
Other claims about OnePlus 12 include using a next-generation, 2024 Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, 150W wired fast-charging, and 50W wireless charging.
The early rumours are timed alongside OnePlus’s change in launch cadence. For reference, OnePlus 11 was launched very early this year, with the phone officially retailing in Singapore as early as February.
