Leica launches S$900 limited edition of its Sofort 2 hybrid instant film camera for snowboarding fans

Hybrid instant film cameras are in. Leica knows this and is trying to appeal to even more users with a special limited-edition version of its Sofort 2.

Leica Camera AG just announced the Leica Sofort 2 Burton Edition. Burton Snowboards was involved in its creation, paying home to its founder, Jake Burton Carpenter.

This edition features a special design: the “Jake Blue”, which features a striking blue-black pattern that is distinctively different from Leica’s iconic red or black colours. The camera’s top cover also features the Burton logo.
The Sofort 2 Burton Edition has a Burton-branded camera bag to complete the look.

The striking blue camera is based on the original Leica Sofort 2, pictured above.
You can read all about the hybrid instant film camera here, but the long and short of it is that the camera prints out instant photos that are taken.
It also has an internal memory to store digital versions of the same images, and you can also print pictures sent to the Sofort 2, even if another camera took it.

The key difference is that the original Sofort 2 is “only” S$580, but the special edition one is at a very special price of S$900. You can find the Leica Sofort 2 Burton Edition on Singapore's official Leica Online Store website.
