iPhone 7 Plus, 128GB and black models said to be most popular among consumers

Based on e-receipt data from 32,000 customers on Slice Intelligence's panel, the market research firm claims that the iPhone 7 Plus is more popular than the iPhone 7 in the U.S for the first time. Read on to find out more interesting stats.

As Apple will not be revealing the first weekend sales of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, we have to rely on data from research firms to get a gauge of their popularity. Slice Intelligence, which has provided a number of estimates on Apple's devices in the past few years, shared its data on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

In the U.S market, Slice Intelligence claims that the iPhone 7 Plus outsold the iPhone 7 for the first time during pre-orders. In the first 48 hours of availability, it is stated that 55% of customers ordered the iPhone 7 Plus. In comparison, 41% and 35% of customers chose the iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone 6 Plus respectively.

Slice Intelligence also said that black has become the most popular color as it accounted for 46% of pre-orders. Surprisingly, only 23% of customers preferred Jet Black although the figure could possibly be higher if not for the limited supply

Rose Gold, which was last year's most popular color, constituted only 15% of iPhone 7 and 7 Plus pre-orders. Gold and Silver models garnered 9% and 8% respectively. When it comes to the most popular storage option, 67% of consumers chose 128GB followed by 32% for 32GB and 19% for 256GB.
