The Apple iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 are likely to be the next two phone series to support Qi2 wireless charging.

In the release notes for the RC version of iOS 17.2 update, Apple confirms the upcoming software update will bring "Qi2 charger support for all iPhone 13 models and iPhone 14 models.".

As of 16 November, the Apple iPhone 15 lineup are the first Qi2.0-certified phones. The Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) announced that Qi2 will be available in time for the holiday season. iOS 17.2 is slated to be available later this week.

With Qi2 wireless charging support, iPhone 13/14/15 users need not purchase MagSafe chargers to enjoy wireless charging speeds of up to 15W. They can still enjoy up to 15W wireless charging speeds on third-party options such as Anker, Belkin and Mophie.

Qi2 is built on Apple's MagSafe technology and aims to unify wireless charging under a single global standard. The WPC says Qi2 will accelerate the development of faster wireless charging while ensuring the process remains safe.
