Nearly three months after sharing that it was testing Android 9.0, Huawei announced that the software update is ready to be rolled out to some of its smartphones.
Starting from 10 November, Huawei will roll out EMUI 9.0 based on Android 9.0 Pie globally to 9 Huawei and Honor phones in a progressive manner. The list includes:
- Huawei P20 and P20 Pro (update available to SG users from 18th and 24th December)
- Huawei Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro and Mate 10 Porsche Design (update available to SG users from 18th December)
- Huawei Mate RS Porsche Design (update available to SG users from 18th December)
- Honor 10
- Honor View 10
- Honor Play
EMUI 9.0 will bring a new interface with faster app loading times. As the rollout is on a global scale, do expect it to be staggered and available in the coming weeks for the different markets.
Huawei is one of the fastest Android OEMs to roll out Android 9.0 for its handsets. Earlier in June, the Chinese company announced an ambitious bi-monthly firmware update schedule for the P, Mate and Nova series.
