Note: This article was first published on 2nd November and now updated with more details. The phone goes on sale officially from 22nd November 2018, and telcos will be offering it from 1st December.

Huawei's massive 7.2-inch Mate 20 X was unveiled last month alongside the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro, but so far its availability in Singapore has been a total mystery - until today.

Huawei Consumer Business Group Singapore has now confirmed a firm launch date of 22nd November. It will be available at Huawei Concept Stores, Huawei Official Store Online, selected consumer electronic stores and local telecommunication operators at a recommended retail price of S$1,148. Color options available are Midnight Blue and Phantom Silver. It will also be available at all telco operators from 1st December (pushed forward from the previous date of 8th December).

Sales of our Mate 20 Series has been off the charts and we are excited to bring in the new HUAWEI Mate 20 X that many of our customers have been asking for. We are heartened to see a growing interest in Singapore towards our brand and we remain committed to offer premium products that will cater to our customers’ needs. - Mr. Cheng Jiangfei, Managing Director of Huawei Consumer Business Group Singapore.

The Mate 20 X has a 7.2-inch OLED, 2,244 x 1,080 pixels resolution display with a small teardrop notch. It is powered by Huawei's new HiSilicon Kirin 980 processor with 6GB RAM, and has a huge 5,000mAh battery. On the rear, it boasts the same Leica-engineered triple camera setup used by the Mate 20 Pro.

It is also the first smartphone in the industry to use a multi-dimensional cooling system with vapor chamber and graphene film to support power-intensive games without heat management concerns. The Mate 20 X also comes with the Huawei M-Pen to enhance creativity and productivity needs. For example, the M-Pen can also be used to take screenshots and activate split-screen mode on the phone.
