Honor launches AI-powered Magic6 Pro in Singapore at S$1,399

The Honor Magic6 Pro is finally available in Singapore. It was first introduced to its home market (China) in January 2024. An MWC 2024 launch followed, bringing it to international markets elsewhere before arriving here on 28 March 2024.

To stand out from the competition (which is already touting all sorts of AI smartphone wizardry), Honor has a few AI tricks up its own sleeves, on top of further hardware advancements.

We’ll examine some of its hardware and software perks. If you want to verify its flagship classification, the specification sheet is appended at the bottom of this article.

Sumarry of Magic6 Pro's key features.

The Magic6 Pro offers Honor’s Falcon Camera System, which collectively covers the triple-rear cameras and the software that covers its tuning. You get a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide, and 180MP Periscope Telephoto camera.

The main camera gets a customised HDR sensor, offering “210% enhancement in dynamic range” compared to its predecessor’s main shooter. The telephoto camera has 2.5x optical zoom, while it uses in-sensor zoom technology to offer “seamless zoom options” of 5x and up to 100x digital zoom.

Further optimisations include the ultra-large variable aperture with precise aperture control between f/1.4 to f/2.0 (similar to the Xiaomi 14 Ultra), and a pro-grade sports portrait algorithm that uses both main and telephoto cameras to recreate sports photography bokeh, even in fast motion.

Finally, the camera’s AI is trained on mainstream sports, which makes it more suitable for sports photography (Honor calls it AI Motion Sensing). It’s not limited to ball-type sports, including gymnastics, “stretching movements,” and even skateboarding.

Other perks of the Magic6 Pro go beyond its cameras. It packs a second-generation 5,600mAh silicon-carbon battery with higher energy density than conventional lithium-based batteries. Honor also added an Honor E1 power efficiency chipset to improve its resilience in low-temperature situations. The battery has 80W Wired SuperCharge and 66W Wireless SuperCharge fast charging.

Plain ol' AMOLED isn't enough of a flex. Honor did plenty of enhancements to make an otherworldly display for the Magic6 Pro.

Another fancy perk the Magic6 Pro has is 5,000-nit peak HDR brightness for its 6.8-inch display panel, beating out the already blindingly bright Samsung Galaxy S24 series’ peak brightness of 2,600 nits. The LTPO OLED also comes with nearly all the trimmings needed to be flagship-tier, like its proprietary, drop-resistant-certified NanoCrystal Shield glass, Dolby Vision support, 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut.

The rest of the phone has all the other details that complete its flagship categorisation, like the latest 2024 Snapdragon premium flagship chipset, IP68-rated water and dust resistance, Triple TÜV Certifications for its display, 3D face recognition, fingerprint sensor support, Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 7 support, and USB 3.1 for its Type-C port.

Honor Magic6 Pro also has new AI features for its MagicOS operating system, which adds new ways for users to interact with the phone. We’ve described MagicLM and its accompanying Magic Portal or Magic Capsule features in detail here.

Honor Magic6 Pro pricing and availability in Singapore

Media and influencers in MY outnumber SG ones 10,000 to 1 (not a precise ratio), but Honor still gave a tiny shoutout to the SG market.
