Epson refreshes its ink tank printer lineup with 3 new models

Epson is all-in with ink tank printers these days. In addition to the popular L655 and the recently-announced L605 and A3-capable L1455, the printer and projector maker has just recently strengthened its L series with more ink tank models, namely the L380, L385, and L485.

All three models are multi-function devices with print, scan, and copy functions. With the same print engine, print speeds are pegged at 10ipm (images per minute) for black and white and 5ipm for color. And since these are ink tank printers designed for those who print a lot, they all sport very high page yields - more specifically 7,500 pages in color or 4,500 pages in black with each set of inks.

To drill down further, the L385 and L485 are the ones that come with wireless connectivity, with the L485 also supporting Wi-Fi Direct and mobile printing solutions like Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, and Mopria Print Service, and having an SD card slot and a 1.44-inch color LCD. The L385 and L485 are also equipped with a higher-res scanner with a 1,200 x 2,400dpi optical resolution vs. 600 x 1,200dpi on the L380.

Regarding warranty, the L380 comes with a 2-year warranty or to 50,000 prints, while the L385 and L485 come with a 2-year warranty or 30,000 prints, whichever comes first. The L385 and L485 printers come with a set of inks in the box, but the L380 bundles two addition black ink bottles.

The Epson L380, L385, and L485 are priced at S$259, S$329, and S$379 respectively.
