Get ready, Singapore gamers. Some of the world’s top Counter-Strike players will be descending on our tropical island to battle it out at the Blast Premier World Final 2024 (read about it here) for a share of the US$1 million prize pool. Held at the Resorts World Convention Centre in Sentosa from 30 October to 3 November, tickets to the event will also be up for grabs starting 3 September.
The Blast Premier World Final is touted as Singapore’s largest esports event yet and is backed by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB). This follows the last major esports event in 2022, Dota 2 The International.
So far, five elite teams have secured their spots at the World Final. Expect to see heavyweights like Navi, currently ranked number one in the world, along with other top-tier squads such as Team Vitality, G2 Esports, Team Spirit, and FaZe Clan. The final three teams will be announced by the end of September.
The spotlight will also be on some of the standout players set to make an appearance. Young gun Danil "donk" Kryshkovets, Copenhagen Major MVP Justinas "jL" Lekavičius, and the current world number one, Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut, are all confirmed to take to the stage in Sentosa. To say that these players have been lighting up the global Counter-Strike scene is an understatement to say the least
The current champions, Team Vitality, will be looking to defend their title here. Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut, the French superstar and face of Vitality, is particularly looking forward to the competition. "We're really excited to go to Singapore next month and play against the best Counter-Strike teams. It will be amazing to get on stage in front of so many fans at the Resorts World Convention Centre. It's going to be a lot of fun, and hopefully, we'll see some great CS!” he says in a press release shared with the media.
Whether you’re a die-hard Counter-Strike aficionado or just curious about the buzz, the Blast Premier World Final in Singapore is shaping up to be a must-see event for anyone who considers themselves a fan of the game.
