Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that Apple is working on a smart home IP camera and aims to put it into mass production in 2026. The iPhone maker's long-term goal is to ship over 10 million units of the smart home IP camera annually.

While Kuo did not share any specs, he believes the appeal of the smart home IP camera could be boosted by Apple's ecosystem and deep integration with Apple Intelligence. This could be a strategic advantage over third-party brands such as Arlo, Aqara, D-Link, and TP-Link.

According to Kuo, Apple is rumoured to be working on "at least four new smart home devices in its labs, but not all will see the light of the day". It is also said to be developing a new operating system for its smart home devices.

These devices include a high-end HomePod; a new HomePod mini; a product for the kitchen that combines an iPad and a speaker; and a product for the living room that combines the Apple TV, camera and HomePod.

Bloomberg recently shared insights on Apple's two upcoming smart home displays. The first smart home display is described to be about the size of two iPhones placed side by side, and positioned at an angle to a small base which resembles the iMac G4. It is expected to be unveiled sometime next year,.

The other smart home display is touted as a higher-end model with a robotic arm controlling the bigger screen. It is tipped to launch for around US$1,000 as soon as 2026.
