A bigger iMac is believed to be in the pipeline. Unfortunately, its launch timeframe remains vague at the moment according to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg.

Gurman says a big iMac "remains something Apple is exploring" but he is unsure if it will be powered by the M4 chipset. While Apple is on track to update the 24-inch iMac later this year, his comments suggest that this large iMac may not be ready yet.

Rumours of a larger iMac first surfaced in early 2022, though 9to5Mac claimed that Apple does not have immediate plans to release one.

Gurman then wrote in a July 2022 report that the bigger-screened iMac for the professional market is in the works.

In July 2023, Gurman followed with a report that said large-screened iMacs are still in early development and Apple is testing one with a 32-inch display.

However, when Apple refreshed the 24-inch iMac in October last year, it confirmed to The Verge that it has no plans to release a 27-inch iMac. Apple has never made an iMac with a display that's larger than 27 inches.

Based on the latest report, it is likely that this rumoured larger iMac will launch next year or the year after.
