If you've been holding out for a 27-inch iMac with Apple Silicon, you might want to look elsewhere.

Apple has confirmed to The Verge that it has no plans to release a 27-inch iMac with Apple Silicon. It added that it will focus its efforts on the 24-inch iMac, which was recently updated with the M3 chip.

It also recommends users who are waiting for a 27-inch iMac refresh to consider the Studio Display with the Mac Studio or Mac mini.

The last time Apple updated the 27-inch iMac was back in August 2020, but it was discontinued in March 2022.

And since 2021, there have been rumours of a 27-inch iMac update, which included a mini-LED display and multiple colour options

Be that as it may, one thing to consider is that Apple's statement specifically mentioned the 27-inch iMac, so there's hope yet that the company might still be working on a larger-sized iMac – perhaps 32 inches or more.

Bloomberg stated in a July 2022 report that an iMac with a bigger display for the professional market powered by a variant of the M3 chip is in the worksThis  larger-screen iMac is said to have a 32-inch display and could launch in late 2024 or 2025 at the earliest.

Considering that Apple has increased the screen size of the MacBook Air and is expected to do the same for the iPad Pro next year, there's a chance it might do the same for the iMac.
