ASUS has announced its own notebook powered by a Snapdragon X series processor. This comes on the back of Qualcomm’s announcement earlier today (read about it here).
The Vivobook S 15 (model S5507), which is also the company’s first Copilot+ PC laptop, marks the first time a Vivobook isn’t powered by Intel. However, despite the transition to the Snapdragon X Elite, the Vivobook S 15 retains the same impressive OLED display as its predecessors. The 15.6-inch screen supports up to a resolution of 2880 x 1620, 120Hz refresh rate and has 600-nits peak HDR brightness.
Under the hood, the Vivobook S 15 offers users a choice between two Snapdragon X-series processors: the 12-core Snapdragon X Elite or 10-core X Plus. The notebook will also support up to 32GB of onboard memory and 1TB (PCIe 4.) of SSD storage. There’s also Wi-Fi 7 support too, ensuring that users get the best wireless speed available.

One of the most intriguing features of the Vivobook S 15, however, is ASUS’ own proprietary StoryCube. ASUS says StoryCube is the “the smartest, most convenient, and most powerful way to manage all digital assets, using AI assistance to sort, edit, manage, and export captured raw files.” With the added power of the SnapDragon X processor NPU, users can expect accelerated performance across various AI-driven applications, including Windows Studio Effects and Cocreator – although we will leave our judgement out there till we get our hands on a Snapdragon X-powered notebook.
The ASUS Vivobook S 15 powered by a Snapdragon X Elite processor will retail for $2,199 beginning 5 July at the ASUS Exclusive Store, ASUS Online Store, and all authorised retailers.
