No new Mac or iPad announcement expected at WWDC 2018

WWDC 2018 will focus more on software updates.

Contrary to earlier reports and expectations, Apple is not likely to unveil new iPad or Mac hardware at WWDC 2018 next week.

According to Bloomberg, new Macs and iPads are only coming later this year as Apple focuses on new software features such as a new Digital Health initiative, ARKit 2.0 and notification management features in iOS 12. Earlier this year, it was said that Apple would launch a low-cost Retina MacBook Air at WWDC 2018. New iPad Pro models with Face ID and new Apple Pencil are expected to be launched later this year.

Bloomberg also states that the upcoming Apple Watch refresh will see a slightly larger edge to edge display. Former KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo shared a similiar claim in March. Although it will be the biggest hardware change since its introduction in 2014, the new Apple Watch will still support existing bands.
