Apple has reportedly recruited two more suppliers for its upcoming Mini-LED devices.

DigiTimes reports that two former Apple suppliers, Zhen Ding Technology and Flexium Interconnect, will be helping to make flexible printed circuit boards (PCB) for the Mini-LED devices. They are expected to start small-volume shipments of Mini-LED backlit modules in Q4 to support the launch of the new 12.9-inch iPad Pro in Q1 2021. These modules are likely to be used for other upcoming iPads and MacBooks.

Korean publication The Elec claimed a few weeks ago that the 12.9-inch iPad Pro with Mini-LED display is in trial production and could launch in Q4. However, tipster @L0vetodream shared that the new generation iPad Pro models with Mini-LED displays and 5G will only launch in Q1 or Q2 2021.

Earlier rumours suggest that Apple wanted to launch as many as six Mini-LED devices this year, but the Covid-19 outbreak and technical issues prompted Apple to push back the plan. The iPhone maker is also investing in a new plant to make Mini-LED and Micro-LED displays.
